My Indian Trip

Posted on 10th January 2012

First of all I want to wish all of you a very Happy, Healthy, and Peaceful 2012.

I am just back from a week-long business trip in India. Perhaps the best way to get great inspiration for starting this brand new year.

During my trip I traveled across India from north to south to then headed north-west to reach Mumbai (or Bombay as many of us still call it). As always the trip was very good, and it was good from several perspectives. I had a chance to meet the many OpenSplice DDS users we have in India and learnt about their current projects, introduced them to the new features available in  OpenSplice v6.1, and had several deep discussions on DDS idioms and other advanced DDS uses.

As you can imagine my trip was technically very joyful. But along with that, it was really a life enriching experience -- as often happens when I visit India.

Now, it is true that, since I was a young kid, I've had a special passion for India and the Indian  philosophy. It is also true that I have become vegeratian and that I am a Yoga pratcitioner -- thus you can guess that doing Yoga in India has to feel very special.

Beyond all of this, what really enriches me, are  the interactions with the many people I meet. Their genuine kindness, peacefulness, and wisdom is exemplar and in a sense contageous. As such, I'd like to thank all of the many people that I've met during this trip and with which we've entertained all kinds of discussions, technical, philosophical, existential, as well as the less transcendent but still enjoyable culinary discussions -- Indian food is very good.

Once again thank you and see all of you soon!

A+
