CORBA Common Object Services (COS)

The CORBA Services specification (also known as Common Object Services (COS)) is defined by the Object Management Group (OMG). CORBA Services are a set of interface specifications that provide fundamental services that application developers may need in order to find and manage their objects and data, and to coordinate the execution of complex operations.

PrismTech's OpenFusion CORBA Services are the most comprehensive suite of enterprise strength implementations of the main OMG CORBA Services available in the market today. OpenFusion CORBA Services provide the premier implementations of the CORBA Naming, Trading, Notification, Log, and Lightweight Services.

CORBA Notification Service (NOT)

An extension to the existing OMG Event Service, adding to it: transmitting events in the form of a data structure; event subscription; discovery; QoS; and an optional event type repository.

CORBA Naming Service (NAM)

Provides the principal mechanism through which most clients of an ORB-based system locate objects that they intend to use (make requests of).

CORBA Trading Service (TRADE)

The OMG trading object service facilitates the offering and the discovery of instances of services of particular types.

CORBA (Telecoms) Log Service (TLOG)

This specification defines the interfaces that allow logging of any type of event and querying of Log Records based on constraint languages. It also provides capabilities to form log networks for storing and forwarding events.

CORBA Lightweight Services (LtSVC)

This specification defines a compatible subset of three existing CORBA services (Event, Naming and Time) to make these services suitable for use in resource- constrained systems.

Other CORBA Services include: Collection Service, Concurrency Service (CONC), Enhanced View of Time (EVoT), Event Service, Externalization Service (EXT), Licensing Service (LIC), Life Cycle Service (LFCYC), Management of Event Domains (MED), Notification / JMS Interworking (NOT JMS), Persistent State Service (PSS), Property Service (PROP), Query Service (QUER), Relationship Service, Security Service (SEC), Time Service (TIME), Transaction Service (TRANS).
