MILCOM 2009, Boston, MA, USA — October 19, 2009 — PrismTech™, an acknowledged leader in Software Defined Radio (SDR) infrastructure solutions, today released SDR operating environment (OE) benchmarks for Freescale and Intel hardware platforms from GE Fanuc and Kontron. These benchmarks demonstrate the industry-leading performance of PrismTech’s Spectra™ OE on commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and operating systems. These benchmarks will be showcased at MILCOM 2009, the premier international conference for military communications, held in Boston, MA at the World Trade Center from October 18 to 21, 2009.
These benchmarks were created by a Wind River and PrismTech collaboration, also announced today, to develop a high-performance SDR solution for the military and public sectors. This combined SDR solution has demonstrated breakthrough performance on multiple processors from Freescale and Intel, including round trip times of less than 10 seconds to power up, initialize the platform, load waveform components, unload waveform components, and shut down the radio.
PrismTech will be demonstrating a lifecycle demo of SDR/SCA (Software Communication Architecture) application development and deployment using the Spectra CX tool on a PC targeting Spectra OE with VxWorks 6 executing on a Kontron nanoETXexpress-SP / Intel Atom Z5XX board.
PrismTech will exhibit its SDR products in the Wind River booth #344 at MILCOM. Additional information about attending the MILCOM event is at http://www.milcom.org/.
